Two mid-year (jeweller to the lost) sale dates to mark in your diary Thursday, Jun 14 2018

Every mid-year the GOMA Winter Design Market happens, this year its on Saturday July 28th 2018. The combined marketing by every stall holder brings a multitude of new customers to the market day.

This year we are breaking with tradition and opening our studio mid year for commission clients and their friends, so please take notice!

Friday evening the 29th June 2018 for the early birds with some bubbles to share AND Saturday the 30th June from 10:00am – 3:00pm for stock items at wholesale and below. As at Christmas each year we will be making new pieces at whim (at silly prices) . . . necklaces and earrings are planned.

This a chance for our dedicated clients to beat the rush at the end of July! Two sets of two trays are priced down and priced already . . . new ‘curved bar’ necklaces, new ‘bar and ring’ necklaces with added features and ‘five strand bead bracelets’ with added features are priced to go.

Recently commissioned wedding rings for our dear friends Thursday, Jun 14 2018

They are so private . . . I could go on forever about their attention to detail, their secret plans to get themselves hitched, the way each group of friends were told after the event. We call them our ‘dynamic duo’ and we were thrilled to be part of the ongoing parade of activity. My shot is just the pair of solid handmade textured rings and Barbara’s shot is her presentation, where she went into the garden and selected two different leaves to denote them ‘turning over a new leaf’.

Most of you know we publicise the names of our clients, word of mouth is everlasting but in this instance and because everyone had to be told in their own good time I have sat on this announcement. Last night we received this email text:

Hey lovelies!

Hope all’s well!

Just letting you know you can go live with the wedding band post/s whenever you like.

All family/friends are on board with the news!

Thanks for asking, here is the other small sculpture Tuesday, Jun 12 2018

Here is a screen snapshot from the Handmark Gallery website from 2014 showing the exhibition detail: (confirming that this is now in our permanent collection – Jeweller to the Lost, Brisbane, Australia).

Thanks to the “universe” once again Tuesday, Jun 12 2018

We produced two small sculptures for the Landscape show at Handmark, Hobart, Tasmania in 2014, they returned to the studio and were on show in our annual studio sale 2016. They were then given an airing at Artisan as part of our stock before returning back to the fold in 2017 when Artisan moved premises. An important client called and asked about the little blue one – maybe as a present to her husband on their 25th wedding anniversary.

Well that is today and we are proud to say it will be soon installed on the wall of his study . . . everything we seem to make and push into the world finds its own home in its own good time!

This is fun – two shots from friends and clients taken at restaurants Tuesday, Jun 5 2018

Jean Pierre Khoury, Janet Gibson, Lee Primmer & Warwick Anderson all in Sydney and out to lunch when someone had the bright idea – “hey! we are all wearing Barby’s things!” Off with the lot and snapped a pic and messaged it on to us . . . 11 commissioned pieces of Jeweller to the Lost.

Out to dinner at the Vine recently to celebrate our friends wedding, everyone took off their wedding rings for this shot by Brendan Gaffney with Jacqueline Armitstead, Trish & John Honeywill, KT & Karl, Barbara Heath and mal E . . .
