We are now noticing the third wave of designers, architects and creatives engaging with Barbara and the studio to make their life markers. Now in our fourth decade of creatively collaborating with commissioners, these two bright young sparks came to us with a well defined aesthetic – two wedding rings for a UQ student of art history and a masters of architecture student at QUT. Katie Themor flew to Venice yesterday to continue her research on the architecture of the old Jewish ghetto. Katie also works at the QAGoMA bookstore where she is involved in retailing our works on consignment. Jeremy Zigenbine works at KP Architects and is currently engaged on the new refurbishment of the Wickham in Fortitude Valley. Both rings were clearly briefed and executed to their specific requests – his textured ‘moebius’ style is a © Bh favourite while Katie’s ring, a narrow 1.5mm rounded band to suit her engagement ring – simple polished finish and both in 9ct yellow gold.
