Dear Barbara and Mal, It was so good to have your flyer for the fantastic sounding pre-Christmas deals in today’s mail. Lovely stuff in the pictures (though I am not sure about the tanzanite/ pearl shell ring) and it does sound as though you have had a good year when all around you are shutting up shop. Well, the ones who sell the imported blingy gear and the ‘off the shelf’ jewellery seem to be, anyway.
I was reading through your long list of clients and the name Alexandra Mc Tavish jumped out to me. Is she in her late 20′s/early 30′s ? If so are her Mum and Dad called Wendy and Peter and do they, or maybe did they, live in Hong Kong? It is probably a very long shot and there are other Alexandra Mc Tavishes in the world, but I would so like to make contact with Wendy again, as we lost track of her when they were trying to make up their minds whether to stay in Aus or be permanently in HK. She and I were teaching together in Toowoomba in the 1960s and were always good mates, and I haven’t seen her since we went to HK for a nephew’s wedding in 1996.
If she is the girl I hope she is, would it be unethical for you to either pass my contact details on to her or hers to me?
We are spending lots of time home on the farm at Calliope and the gem and mining business is running more or less by remote control. I find I am quite content pottering around the place, though I never get all the things done that I plan for each day. Don’t suppose I have that on my own though!
I trust you are both well, and firing on all cylinders. We missed you at Nth. Bris. show in March, but we will be there again in 2013, God willing, so we hope you might be able to come and say “hello”. We have cut down on the shows we attend, but that is one we like to do, so we will stick with it for now anyway. We might do Redcliffe in early May, but have quit Toowoomba and Cairns for next year, and we will do Townsville in July. We’ve given up interstate shows altogether — Jim says he is sick of the travelling.
Cheers to you both and best wishes for a fabulous sale and restful festive season.
Jenny.

Hi Barb / Mal
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous commissions slideshow this year!! Just stunning!! Spent the last 20 mins working through it – huge congrats to you both – so many exquisite things and beautifully presented!
Sorry we missed the the GOMA markets – will definitely make it to the studio sale though. I was wondering when might be a good time to drop in the pink coral and gold hand of fatima/hamsa necklace for restringing and new clasp? I know you will be very busy with the studio sale coming up – happy to leave dropping it over to the New Year if that suits you better?
Big hugs to you both and Ron E- see you Saturday!
Jem x (& Greg & hounds!)
PS Can’t stop wearing my new enhancers!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! Thank you so much!!!
