We used an industrial process to half-etch both sides of a stainless steel sheet, after supplying vector (line) artwork. Portion was then industrally plated in Gold and the brooches were assempled in the studio. mal E did the perspex design and art for the box and the embossed sleeve. Our first design & production collaboration that worked a treat.

We decided to make the trip enjoyable, spend time with stops at spots we had always wanted to visit & lengthy drop-ins at friends along the way. It was also good to take the next stash of retail jewels to present to the staff at Makers Mark in Sydney instead of bundling into an Express Box in the usual haste.

Interesting corporate repositioning exercise was passed on to me by Michael O’Brien, my friend and NYC illustrator – Rick Meyerowitz and I worked at a visual disclosure - a graphic device that looked at the VRT enterprise from the inside out. As most jobs these days end up in more training than production, the client took the reins of this material. While I would have done some things differently – it remains a great success for all stakeholders.
